Tell us what you are trying to do?
The client has to split many large posts into many smaller ones. I have installed the Duplicate Posts plugin to clone posts, which will assist, but RFG content and Post Connections are not cloned. He is not worried about the latter as they're easy to redo, but was hoping to duplicate the RFG's content along with the post? Otherwise he's got several days work to do. I know this is complex due to the way RFGs are stored, but hoped you might have an idea.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
No, have searched.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
No.
What is the link to your site?
Provided, but the area open to public is very small.
I'm not sure your export/import method would get me all the way, as the child posts that show as fields in the RFG need to be duplicated at the same time as the parent post is duplicated. I have a back up plan in PHP, fashioning a plugin to duplicate the parent posts then loop through the RFG child posts and duplicate them too, maintaining the association with the (duplicated) parent post. I'd need to look more at the structure of the RFG before attempting.
Anyway I've taken it back to the client to decide - they may wish to do it all manually. I'd like to keep this ticket open for a week, in case I do need to do this and get in a tangle. I'll try your way first.
Hi, my client did a test run, and it didn't take as long as he thought to fork/duplicate everything semi-manually. He's opted to do it himself so I won't need further assistance with this. Thanks.
