I am trying to: use Views with the Elegant Themes Divi Builder. I keep reading that Views and Divi don't work well together so want to see if they do in fact conflict before I invest too much time designing with Divi Builder. thanks.

I visited this URL:

Thank you for contacting us here in the Support Forum and for providing the Debug Informations

I am not familiar with this Theme/Builder, but basically, Toolset should be compatible with any Theme / Plugin out there following basic WP API and best practices.
https://toolset.com/home/compatibility-toolset-plugins-themes/

Some Views features require Bootstrap Framework to be used by the Theme, otherwise some features wont work nice, such as Bootstrap Grid in the Views Loop.

I understand this DIVI Builder is sort of a Page Builder where you can build the Templates look of your pages from within the WP Admin?

Are you familiar with Layouts?

This is the Toolset Page Builder (you can edit / design entire templates with it).
A single line of code in your PHP Files makes it work with any Theme out there.

I have queried our Forums for issues with Views / DIVI, but could not find any serious compatibility issues, could you point me to a few, so I can analyze this and give proper feedback?

I have found these slight issues:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/wpv-post-excerpt-word-count-not-working/
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/custom-post-custom-group-name-is-showing-up-but-no-customer-fields-are-visible/
(the last one is old, I don't think it's still a issue)

I have also run a internal Feedback Query on my colleagues, but due to Working Shifts, this info will have to wait until tomorrow, as most of them are currently off shift.

Please don't hesitate to point me to any threads of this topic, and please also consider checking out Layouts

Its a great plugin with many powerful features.
You can read more about it here:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/#layouts

A short overview is here:

Please could you provide me the additional Infos, and expect my informations here in the forum.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanks so much once again for such a quick and thorough reply to my question! Regarding Layouts.... I also thought Layouts could be a great page builder for me, but I keep reading that it needs a Bootstrap theme to function properly, of which Divi isn't. Does it in fact need Bootstrap?

#330012

Thanks for the Details

Yes, Layouts requires Bootstrap Framework Built Themes.

This is also the reason why most probably you see issues with Views + DIVI, since DIVI seems to not use Bootstrap.
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/layouts-theme-integration/

Some Views features don't work without Bootstrap as I illustrated previously.

Bootstrap is a great solution for making WebSites responsive and I highly suggest to use Bootstrap so to be able to present your WebSite in mobile Devices easily and nicely.

We plan to add Support for the Foundation Framework as well, but that is a future feature not yet read yto go.

I apologize this inconvenience.

My colleagues are not directly aware of issues with DIV and Views.
If you have any specific issues, or threads, please can you inform me about them?

Please let me know if you have further questions regarding the issue mentioned in this Thread

Thank you for your patience.

I'm finding that Views is working out ok with Divi, but not with the Divi Page Builder. That's unfortunate that I would require Bootstrap as I really like the Divi theme and don't want to switch. Regardless, it seems like many things I've read are probably more relevant to people attempting to use Layout with Views vs just Types and Views alone.

Thanks again for your quick response to my questions!

Michele,

Do you have any update feedback on your experience with DIVI and Toolset (obviously, minus layouts).

Curious if you've found some ways to make it work.

Thanks,

Robbie

I'm having display and non compatibility issues as well. Divi builder is awesome plus we have a dev license and all our sites use it. I like what I see with layouts but switching everyone to your layouts, which by the way we probably will do over the next few months, isn't practical at the moment. Do you have any work arounds?

#361160

OOPS forgot to add same compatibility issues with CRED and Divi as well. Just an FYI. It pretty much either works sorta or it can break the whole thing when you use CFT that are allow multiple instances and the field is required. Freaked me out this am but got it back with no problem. So any thoughts on a work around or a hack would be awesome. My team is looking into and if we come up with anything we'll let you know. In the mean time any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and one more thing. 🙂 we use Shortcodes Ultimate (third party shortcode provider(also very cool and great plugin) to fill in the gaps for DIVI. But the three aren't playing nice in the sandbox together. I was reading you can add thrid party shortcodes. I will look for a post that might have my answer. My question is, do I really have to add each shortcode one at a time? Or is there a better way?
