I am trying to:

I have a repeater field. So in the loop, I'd like to display post items in Menu order (assuming this is for manual order using drag and drop method in post edit). The display result seems to be only in Alphabetical order. When I change between Asc or Desc order in the View admin, it does reflect on the front end, but only in Alpha mode. It doesn't seem to work correctly in order my modification date either. See attached screen shot.

I expected to see:
Post order by Menu or Modification date

Instead, I got:
Alphabetical order

Thanks for the advice. Setting sort order using Field - toolset-post-sortorder works and that's exactly what I was looking for. I would never have known or figured out that is setting does what it does. Perhaps setting labels can be a bit more clear and less vague.

Thank you for the quick help. Really appreciate it.
