I want to accurately display multiple post types (some are CPTs) in the global search results, but the results aren't accurate. For example, "John Paul" is in the title of many products in this site but those products don't really show up high in the results, yet lots of others show up in the results that aren't relevant (hidden link).

I have Relevanssi installed and I have this global search set up in a view, but I'm thinking there's some conflicts here... for example I don't have the option to sort by "relevance" in the view but that's what's set in Relevanssi.

Should I be doing this differently? I feel like I'm missing some things and just need a little guidance here.

You can access the search functionality on any page by clicking the search icon in the upper-right menu: hidden link

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

Based on what you've shared, I understand that you'd like to give more 'weight' to the post titles, while calculating the relevancy of the results.

You can find more information about the 'Weights' settings in this official guide from 'Relevanssi':

Thanks Waqar,

I have all of that set up already. I think one of the main issues I'm running into is the sort order. The Toolset View is set to sort primarily by published date, and that's overriding the relevancy established in Relevanssi. Any way to change this? I didn't immediately find anything when looking, but I'm probably not thinking things through very well...

Thanks for writing back.

I've performed some tests on my website with Relevanssi and noticed that both in the views and the WordPress Archives, the ordering setting is controlled by the Relevanssi. It doesn't matter what is set in the archive or view's own 'Order' settings.
