Display related post field

This support ticket is created 4 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hello,
I am creating a View in my content template. In the view, I add a block "Fields and Text". Then I click the fields button to get all the fields. When I click a field from the related post, it does not show up.
However if I add a block "Single Field" and select a field from the related post, it does work.
Can you help me with this?

When you use the little Fields and Views button (behind the Toolset icon) in the Fields and Text block to insert some field (e.g. the post title) a dialog should pop up which has a tab for the post selection where you tell it to use a different post (e.g. a related post) as the source of the field.

If you can't find that let us know, we can gather some screenshots.

I had to add the name of the parent to the field, like item='@writer-post.parent'.
My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
