[Resolved] Display custom fields group before post content

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

Insert custom fields before post content section in backend.

Solution:

Unfortunately this one won't be possible as you custom fields are hooked after the post content, however you disable post content section by going to Toolset -> Post Types, Edit your CPT Then disable the editor.

This is in the event that you don't want to use the Default content editor.

I've created a custom post type and added custom fields to the new post type. When I then choose to add or edit one of my custom post type entries, the custom field group is displayed after the post's content window. I would like to display my custom field group immediately after the title, and before the post's content area. For my particular application, the post content area may not be required for all posts. The custom field group items are required for all entries.

Is there a way to change the position of the custom field group in relation to the other standard post metaboxes?

Hi Bob,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Unfortunately this one won't be possible as you custom fields are hooked after the post content, however since you mentioned that you may not use the post content section then you can remove this by going to Toolset -> Post Types, Edit your CPT Then disable the editor. See Screenshot.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane

I see. Thank you for clarifying that. I thought I was missing something obvious. I think for my application I will follow your advice and disable the editor. I can then add a WYSIWYG element at the end of my custom field group for the entries that do require a description, and that will give me the same effect.

Thanks Shane!
