[Resolved] Different spiderfy marker icon

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
How to add seveeral differnt spdierfy icons?

Solution:
Spiderfy library (obviously) supports this, and the problem is not in adding this, but in complicating our interface even further, that's why we didn't implement it right away.

We would have custom markers, then hover markers, and if we add spiderfy markers, it's a quite complex UI to use.
Yes, it's doable - does it make the Toolset better or easier to use?
Not necessarily

Hence, we decided to see how much impact this would have if implemented.

Hello

I've got help with my different markers / taxonomy from Shane, this is the topic: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/different-marker-images-based-on-taxonomy/

My last question was about needing a different marker icon to show the overlapping spiderfied markers. I have multiple events occuring on the same place on the map and it is a little confusing when it shows one category icon for every event type: hidden link

In his last response Shane told me that he can't find refrence to this is the API documentation. I've looked on that github page too and one of the demos (Fancy demo) shows exactly what I need (those icons with + sign over them): hidden link

Toolset support is awesome, I've leart a lot from you guys since I use Toolset, I hope you can help me out with this too 🙂

Hello,

Thanks for sharing the link, and it is not a built-in feature of Toolset map plugin, if you agree, we can take it as a feature request, our developers will evaluate.

#1072478

Of course I agree.

Talking this over with the developers it became clear why it's not added.

We filed the request and will, if there are many users require it, try to add this in a usable way.

Thanks!

Can you maybe advice me how to implement this functionality? I'm not much of a JavaScript coder... Ther is a code example in the OMS github, but I guess I only need a small portion of that as a custom script.

No, this is not possible, it would be custom code, or - enhancing Toolset, without providing it to others.
This is posible, but it's not added on our system.

You would need custom code for that.
Maybe, contractors can help until it is (eventually) implemented:

We would prefer to either add this in Maps natively, or not use it, for now.
