Hello from Austria,

I launched a former dummy website under a live domain hidden link today. The ad and job market of the website was created with the help of Toolset. Toolset Forms, Toolset Access and Toolset Blocks are used. The live website currently displays the message "This site is registered on Toolset.com as a development site." I then logged into my account at toolset.com and entered the live-domain as a newly opened website. I have received the license key. How can I deactivate the display in the front end of the website that this is a development site? I have now installed the OTGS installer, but cannot activate this plugin under WordPress. I am asking for help to disable the banner notice indicating a development site.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

For a Toolset site key set as 'development', you can follow these steps:

1. Please go to the Toolset site keys management page ( https://toolset.com/account/sites/ ) and look for the key that is already used for the registration.

2. All 'development' site keys have a link/publish icon next to the delete icon. Use that icon to remove the 'development' status from this site key.
( when asked for the new production website URL, use the same one making sure that it matches what is set at WP Admin -> Settings -> General -> WordPress Address (URL) )

3. Once the site key status has been changed, go to WP Admin -> Plugins -> Add New Plugin -> Commercial (tab) and use the 'Check for updates' button.

This should update the registration status on the website too and the development notice will be removed.

Note: If you've deleted the site key that was set with 'development' status and now have created a new one, you can use the 'Unregister Toolset from this site' link at the same 'WP Admin -> Plugins -> Add New Plugin -> Commercial (tab)' screen to remove the old site key and then register with a new one.

regards,
Waqar

Hi Waqar,

thank you very much for your advice. I have followed all your steps. Unfortunately, I am not able to remove the developer status display from the website.

I originally deleted the url of the demo website hidden link at https://toolset.com/account/. I have just requested a new key for the live website hidden link.

As you described, I have now gone to WP Admin -> Plugins -> Add New Plugin -> Commercial.

There I clicked on the link "Unregister Toolset from this site". Here I get the following message in a popup window: "Site-key was set by OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_TOOLSET, most likely in wp-config.php. Please remove the constant before attempting to unregister."

The file permissions of the wp-config.php file are 444.

I then click on the "Check for Updates" button. I see the message "Toolset is registered on this site" Unfortunately, this procedure does not have the desired effect that I can enter the newly created toolset key here and make the development display under the frontend of the website hidden link disappear.

Final note: I had deleted the OTGS installer in the course of taking over the website under the live domain. I then reinstalled it. It appears as installed, but cannot be activated.

Would you like me to send you the access data to the backend of the website so that you can see the case for yourself?

Thanks in advance for your help
Mark

Thank you for sharing this update.

I'll recommend editing your website's 'wp-config.php' in the root directly and look for the following line:

define( 'OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_TOOLSET', 'your-site-key' );

In place of the 'your-site-key', if you see the old site key, replace it with the newly created site key, for the live website. After saving the file click the "Check for Updates" button and see if it completes the registration process.

If it still doesn't work, you can remove that line altogether from the 'wp-config.php' file and then follow the steps from my last reply.

I hope this helps and let me know how it goes.

Hello Waqar,

I have proceeded in exactly the same way as you describe, but I have had no success in deactivating the development notes on the live website hidden link.

==

I then went back and started from scratch. I uninstalled the OTS installer and reinstalled it again. This works, but it cannot be activated under the WordPress plugins.

I deleted the live domain hidden link under toolset.com and re-entered it. A new license key was created.

I see the problem (presumably) in this:

a/ I confirm under WordPress the command PLUGINS - ADD A NEW PLUGIN
b/ I then select the COMMERCIAL tab.
c/ I click on the UNREGISTER TOOLSET FROM THIS SITE link on the right.

The following message then appears in a pop-up window:

Site-key was set by OTGS_INSTALLER_SITEKEY_TOOLSET, most likely in wp-config.php. Please remove the constant before attempting to unregister.

This message also appears after I delete the command define( 'OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_TOOLSET', 'My License key' ); from wp-config.php.

==

I have tried all the variants you recommended several times, but I can't get anywhere. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I deactivated and deleted the OTGS installer after restoring the original website (and thus toolset in development status) to the live domain hidden link using a backup tool. I can now install it again, but it can no longer be activated.

Under my toolset account at toolset.com, the new registered live domain hidden link is displayed as if there is no connection to the WordPress website. On all the other development sites that I have set up for testing purposes, I can see which of the Toolset components are active on the website in question by means of green check marks.

This is not the case with the newly registered live domain. I have seen a PUBLISH button and have entered the url of the new domain in a popup window. I also added the command define( 'OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_TOOLSET', 'my license key' ); to wp-config.php and clicked the CHECK FOR UPDATES button (under COMMERCIAL) again.

Unfortunately, the original display does not change. The following is still displayed under the start page under hidden link: "This site is registered on Toolset.com as a development site."

Thank you very much for further help.
Mark

Thank you for sharing this update.

It is strange, that none of the recommendations have worked to remove that notification.

For further troubleshooting, can you please share temporary admin login details? I'll also need your permission to download a clone/snapshot of the website, in case it needs to be investigated on a different server.

Note: Your next reply will be private and making a complete backup copy is recommended before sharing the access details.

Thank you for sharing these details.

In the Toolset installer error log, I see the following messages:
" toolset: Unable to register: Site key not matching "

This means that the site key that is currently associated is not generated using the correct site URL.

Through FTP access, I checked the 'wp-config.php' file and saw the 'OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_TOOLSET' constant defined with the site key.
( I couldn't make changes to this file, only was able to download the existing one )

Please remove this line from the file and then you'll be able to use the 'Unregister Toolset from this site' link at the 'WP Admin -> Plugins -> Add New Plugin -> Commercial (tab)' screen to remove the old site key.

Next, generate a new site key making sure that the URL matches what is saved at WP Admin -> Settings -> General -> WordPress Address (URL).

After these steps, you'll be able to register with this new key at 'WP Admin -> Plugins -> Add New Plugin -> Commercial (tab)'.

It is very important that you follow these steps, in the order specified.

Thank you Waqar for your step-by-step instructions. This time deactivating the reference to the website under development worked. I was able to licence Toolset from WordPress with a newly created key. I have screenshotted every step so that I am prepared for the next time. I also like to thank you on behalf of my client for your patience and assistance in this matter.

Best regards from Innsbruck/ Austria

By closing this support ticket, I thank you Waqar very much for your effort and time you dedicated to my request and problem. You have helped me to understand Toolset and WordPress processes so that I can implement these steps independently in an upcoming project.

Thanks again
Mark
