Hello,

I using toolset type & toolset view plugin with my site. Recently I'm updating my site with PHP 8 for that I tried latest version of toolset type & toolset view. New plugin working fine on activation.

I created Relationship for connecting two post type. After upgrade database for toolset, I notice some post-post relation are incorrect and because of that it's showing wrong content.

Due to this issue, I'm not able to upgrade my PHP version. Can you help me with this asap?

Let me know if anything else needed for debugging this issue?

HI there

I'm a bit confused about the issue here, as you seem to be talking about two different things.

One is upgrading from PHP 7 to PHP 8.

The other is upgrading Types from 3.3.7 to 3.4.16.

Which of these is it that is causing you problems with your post relationships?

There was a database migration in Types 3.4, so I suggest ignoring the PHP version for now (i.e. stick with PHP 7), and focusing on whether the relationship migrations work correctly with the upgrade of Types.

And you say you added a relationship, but your screenshot suggests you have lots of relationships, so are we talking about problems with existing relationships and related posts, or just with a newly added relationship?

Note that if a database migration has occurred there should be an option to roll it back in the troubleshooting section linked to from the bottom of Toolset > Settings.

Hey,

Thanks for your help.

> I first updated PHP version and then i tried to update Plugin version. Plugin working fine with PHP8 but Issue happening after DB upgrade process done. I didn't check DB upgrade process with PHP 7 [ I'll try this ].

> Issue happening with Existing relationship. We connected author CPT with some other post type. After migration i found out some post author connected not showing which was working before DB upgrade.

I will try to check DB upgrade with PHP 7 and let you know result of that.

Thank you for sharing this update and please let us know how the DB upgrade with PHP 7 goes.

Hello Waqar,

I tested this DB upgrade with PHP 7.4 and I found same issue with that also.

Thank you for sharing this update.

Can you please share temporary admin login details, along with some examples, where the incorrect relationship data can be seen?

I'll also need your permission to download a clone/snapshot of the website, in case this needs to be investigated, on a different server.

Note: Your next reply will be private and making a complete backup copy is recommended before sharing the access details.

Thank you for sharing these details.

I'm currently working on downloading the clone of this staging website so that I can review the database changes before and after the update process, on a test server.

Will keep you updated on the progress and thank you for your patience.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still working on this.

I haven't reached the main cause of this yet but will share a detailed update, as soon as this testing completes.

Thank you for waiting.

I've tested your website's clone and its database upgrade process on a couple of different server environments. In each test, the relationship connections were migrated and preserved correctly. The search from the Relevanssi does seem to behave differently and it should be bringing the results based on their post-author titles, but, that is a separate investigation.

Have you noticed any inconsistency with the relationship data, other that on the search results page?

Hey,

I'm not 100% sure about any other page. On search page we showing post author name and it's also incorrect to i'm 100% sure that will happen on single post page too.

Somehow we getting incorrect author, I think we are not using Relevanssi for getting author data of post.

Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still working on this.

Will continue the investigation and share the findings, as soon as I can.

Thank you for waiting and I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
(we had some unusually busy forum queue last week)

I've continued the investigation and couldn't find any inconsistency in the relationship or the post-author data, after the update process.

Can you please share any example link or post where you're seeing an incorrect relationship or post author?
( let's put aside the search page's behavior for now )
