If I delete a Custom Field (that is populated within CPTs) and then remove it from Post Field Control does the data remain in the database somewhere or is it removed?

Similarly, what happens if I delete a Custom Field but do not remove it from Post Field Control?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

If I delete a Custom Field (that is populated within CPTs) and then remove it from Post Field Control does the data remain in the database somewhere or is it removed?
=> Yes, all post custom field stored in postmeta table. Having said that, if you try to delete it the associated data also deleted. Please check the following screenshot - that warns users before they delete the field notifying that this action cannot be undone:
- hidden link

Similarly, what happens if I delete a Custom Field but do not remove it from Post Field Control?
=> If you remove a custom field from custom field group, that means you are just unlinking that custom field from the current custom field group. The data will remain as it is and the custom field will be still available so that you can add it to a custom field group. To do so, you need to click on the button "Choose from previously created fields".
