Hi,

I want to know what is the difference between the two.

Custom Post type archive VS Custom WordPress Archives

When I tried to create a custom post type archive, it doesn't apply to my custom post type archive page. I can only design my custom post type archive page in the WordPress archives.

Thanks for the help.

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Please check our glossary for more information about all the Toolset elements https://toolset.com/glossary/
- A template is a design that defines how single posts and pages display on the front-end. Either on the single post page(called an assigned content template) or inside a loop(called an unassigned content template), in a view or in a WordPress archive.
- WordPress Archives make it easier for users to access all posts that have something in common. You can create an archive based on a date of publication, content type, or taxonomy.

This being said, a content template assigned to archives, will be used for the loops of that custom post type archives. This content template will be used for those archives only if no Toolset WordPress archive is assigned. If a Toolset WordPress Archive template is used for some archive pages, it will not use the content template assigned to those archives, as you will be able to customize the posts inside the archive template.

I hope this answers your question, let me know if you still have any questions.
