I am trying to:
Create new custom fields and show them in the backend. I have created custom fields and seleted them to show in the 'post' post type and a custom post type I created called 'applicants'.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link

I expected to see:
The custom fields but nothing is showing.

Instead, I got:
Nothing

Steps I have taken:
I have deactived all plugins, changed to core wordpress theme, cleared my cache, cleaned up my database and nothing is showing.

I have created a user for you to log in with. Please let me know if I can share this user information for you to log in and take a look.

Hi, there could be a problem with capabilities for the user role "Unite Abilities Admin", but it's hard for me to tell. Since the test User you created for me has this custom role, but not the true WordPress Admin role, I'm not sure what permissions and capabilities are allowed for this User. Is it possible to change this to a true Administrator User? Or can you explain more about this custom role, its capabilities, how it is created, etc.?

That user role is the standard wordpress admin role. It was just renamed with the user role editor plugin. I have reset the user role back to the standard wordpress naming convention.

This has not fixed the issue. Any other ideas as to why this is not working?

Okay thanks, I'm not sure what could be the problem here. Is it okay for me to create a clone of the site using the Duplicator plugin? This will allow me to run more tests locally where I can monitor the database and code execution.
