Hello,

This is incredibly frustrating!

Cloning Toolset CRED forms is really cool because I can quickly create an edit form or a similar form for a different user group.

I have spent a lot of time on my CRED form;

Which is output onto here;

The cloned form;

When I try to clone my CRED form and then edit it, all fields and positions are lost.

It's really frustrating as I need 4 different versions of this particular form and probably only need to change a couple of fields.
I can copy and paste the "advanced layout", but doesn't give me the instant functionality of positioning my newly input fields without tinkering with code.

Anything that can help would be amazing.

Thanks

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Yes, I checked and I confirm that export/import for the form you mentioned is not working correctly.

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
As a workaround, what if you try to switch to expert mode and copy the form content and paste it to the new form you created - does that works?

Hi Minesh,

Yes, that does seem to work as the information is staying inside the form. However as you know, placement of cells is a lot harder this way.
Also, I don't know if it's a feature but once you've saved the form in 'Avanced' you cannot simply go back as fields tend to disappear.

After some more testing.

The clone feature seems to be failing on this form alone.

I've ruled out a few things;

1. It is not the custom field I added to this form
2. It is not the first HTML field I have on this form
3. No other form acts this way.

If you checked the import/export, then that as well as the 'clone' feature does not work on this form either.

Many thanks

After Blocks release the clone feature should be affected and we know that we will have to improve there but its again depends on predefined priorities or Devs. There is no ETA when the issue will be fixed and we release improved version of import/export function that supports blocks.

For now, I suggest you keep using workaround and also file a feature request to support Block based version of forms import/export. You can file a feature request using the following form:

That’s REALLY disappointing.

I am afraid I don’t even understand your first paragraph properly. It’s almost as if you are half way through explaining something but I am intelligent enough to know this is the end of this support topic.

It shall be closed.

Thanks anyway Minesh, we tried.
