Hi There,

Placeholders have disappeared from my sites including this one.

I am trying to: Display the placeholders set in Post Fields on a CRED form

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: Placeholder text in all the fields in the greyed box bottom right panel beneath Child's full name. Each of the fields have placeholders defined in in the post fields screen, but these have recently stopped displaying. The Child's full name placeholder was entered as an attribute in the CRED form screen.

Instead, I got: No placeholders except when defined in CRED form screen.

I have also noticed that some of the styling in the dashboard is off: see attached

Hello,

For the problem: Placeholder text

Please edit your CRED form, and check these:
check if there is attribute "placeholder" for those fields.

If there isn't, try to setup it manually, for example:
[cred_field field='ex-pf-childs-name' placeholder="input some text here ..." ...]

See our document:
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/cred-shortcodes/#cred_field
placeholder. Optional. This value is being displayed when the field is empty.

Hi Luoy,

Thanks for getting back to me. I understand your suggestion and even confirmed it works in my question. My question is about the placeholder data entered in the Post Field Group screen. This has always been sufficient for front end display of a placeholder. It’s a big job to go back through multiple sites and edit CRED forms because placeholders have stopped working.

Can you confirm that the placeholder field in the Post Field Group screen should result front end display of a placeholder and that this has stopped working?

Thanks -
Mark

Yes, you are right, in the old version of Types + CRED plugins, the placeholder field in the Post Field Group screen does work in the CRED form, and I have been able to duplicate the same problem with the latest beta version of Types + CRED plugins, and have escalated this thread to our 2nd tier supporters, will update this thread if there is any news.

Thanks again Luo -

The problem also exists in the production versions of the plugins as well as the beta versions.
