I am trying to:
create a development database and all views are working.
Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
development page hidden link
Production page hidden link
I expected to see:
There is no change to the code and the database was migrated correctly. What I first found was that the link to the content selection was missing for the view. Once I solved this for the view I found that nothing showed up in the view. Please help.
I followed the instructions to make development site as per described. I also created a new view and that seems to work fine. Please help to resolve this problem.
Thanks
2. Try to manually Export View from your old site using Toolset settings >> and then import it in your new site using Toolset.
For Toolset content: Please go to Toolset >> Export / Import >>
There are multiple tabs at the top for each plugin (Types, Views, CRED, etc). You need to go to relevant tabs in Export/Import page and export import data for each plugin, into the new site.
If you have tried this method and the particular View still not working, please let me know and we will move ahead accordingly to fix it and I will try my best to resolve it at highest priority.
No its not needed all the time. But in cases where migration did not happen well enough. Such issues are common in WordPress where complex data in the database is not updated correctly during migration. And there are different ways to transfer a WP site.
Such issues are seen when we transfer database and files manually. The recommend method to migrate a site is using Duplicator plugin, as it works best and known to handle Toolset data more efficiently than other methods out there. https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
It's a tested way and we also use Duplicator plugin internally to move our sites.
