Tell us what you are trying to do?
Create a contact me form
Is there any documentation that you are following?
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/can-toolset-be-used-to-make-conventional-contact-forms/#post-2004937
I followed the instruction in this post and did not end up with a contact form.
and also: https://toolset.com/course-lesson/send-notifications-when-someone-submits-the-form
I don't see how to apply the information here to making a contact form.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
No
What is the link to your site?
It is on my laptop using WAMP local server, so I don't have a link to send you.
I have read that Toolset can be used to create a contact form. I have made a custom Type (Contact) and have looked at how to make forms. But that's about as far as I've gotten. Please give me step by step instructions on how to create a contact form using Toolset.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Before we can go further, can you let me know who the contact form will be sent to ? Will it be a fixed email such as an admin address? Or is the user contacting someone from a listing post?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Thanks for the quick response. This is a contact form for visitors to my website to be able to contact me. So, it would be my fixed, admin address. It will serve the same purpose as contact form plugins like Contact Form 7 and others.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

Great so what you will need to do first is to setup your Contact custom post type with the fields that you will need. Ideally you will only need to add an Email field to the Contact post type.

Go to Toolset -> Custom Fields and create a new field group. Add the email field here and then using the Appears On setting select your Contact post type.

Then go to Toolset -> Post Forms and then create a form for your Contact Post type. The form should be auto generated with your fields.

My Advise is that you use the Post title field to store the visitors name, so you can rename the Post title field to Name. This will allow you to easily track the records of the users who sent the mail when you go to the contact post type on the backend.

Once you've done this then you will need to setup the notifications on the form. For details on how to setup post notifications please see the link below.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I'm still working this but am a bit stumped. I'm not familiar with making forms. I just wanted you to know that I'm still very interested in how to do this and so would like to keep the thread active.

Thanks,

Ben

Hi Ben,

No worries. Is there any particular step that you're unsure of and need some clarification to ?

If so please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane
