Hi all,

I'm finding that I can't update content templates in toolset under certain conditions. All of the content templates just information from custom post types and custom fields.

Specifically, I'm finding that I can't update template usage (to specify post types), I can't add conditional containers, I'm sometimes I'm unable to update paragraph blocks (static content and dynamic) on a variety of content templates.

Example page where I can't make changes to the content template hidden link

Is there a workflow I can follow for troubleshooting? I've had great success with toolset on why other sites, this is a first!

Hi James,

Thank you for getting in touch.

In order to understand what is happening here I would need to have admin access to the site so that I can check on the content template.

I've enabled the private fields for your next response.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi James,

I had a quick look at the issue for you but was unable to replicate any of the issues you specified. Im able to create a conditional block as well as to find the content template usage section.

Can you record a short video depicting the issue so that I can understand better?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,
Thanks for checking in! Here's a link capturing the unusual behaviour (I show not being able to apply the template, then not being able to paste in paragraph blocks, and then not being able to save a condition): hidden link

I'm using this content template: hidden link and the admin account I shared with you.

Hi James,

Thank you for the video.

Based on the symptoms of the problem at hand it appears to be some kind of plugin conflict. I would recommend temporarily disabling the non-toolset plugins and checking again.

If the issue still remains after, would you mind if I took a copy of the website to test here locally ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Thanks for reviewing! No concerns from may end of you want to copy the site. I actually tried testing without all but the toolset plugins enabled a couple of days ago. Still got the same behaviour re: content templates not saving and WYSWIG fields not updating.

However, I've had some success in that I recently cleared all content templates applied to this custom post type, and then was able to add the content template again. I seem to be able to update condition fields now and change content template usage (here is the link hidden link).

Now, I'm noticing when I edit custom posts (both in Chrome and Firefox) that the WYSWIG editor will not save content. Here is an example: hidden link I'm trying both in Chrome and Firefox. I wonder if this issue is related to the above?

Thanks for advising!

Hi James,

Thank you for the update.

You're saying that you're no longer experiencing the issue with the content template not saving onto the custom post type ?

Secondly the WYSIWYG is a known long standing issue and we have an erratas page setup for it.

https://toolset.com/errata/visual-tab-of-wysiwyg-fields-may-not-initialize-correctly-appear-not-to-save-data/

There should be an update to our plugins that will be released soon that provides a fix for this one.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks for letting me know about the WYSWIG update Shane! Q: I'm seeing that I can't associate multiple content templates ("usage" feature) with a single custom post type as per the article https://toolset.com/course-lesson/assigning-templates-to-posts-conditionally/?utm_source=plugin&utm_medium=gui&utm_campaign=blocks#steps-for-assigning-a-template-conditionally

Is there something in my setup that would be blocking me from this?

Appreciatively,
James

Hi James,

I tried to log into the site to see what is happening here but it is now taking me to a different login page that requires a microsoft login.

Can you record a short video of what happens when you try to set the conditional templates?

Thanks,
Shane
