[Resolved] Compatibility Issues with TagDiv Newspaper theme

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I've read a few posts here on the forum, and noticed that in the last few years there has been a compatibility issue with the TagDiv Newspaper theme. Can you confirm this is still the case?

Solution:

Newspaper theme is not possible to integrate this theme with Toolset:

Newspaper theme isn't using standard WordPress function the_content() to render the post output, but a complex custom function which does not output the content directly.

Hi there,

I've read a few posts here on the forum, and noticed that in the last few years there has been a compatibility issue with the TagDiv Newspaper theme. Can you confirm this is still the case? As it seems like indeed I'm facing this issue (had that theme for a few years, and used Toolset elsewhere, but now wanted to use Toolset alongside the Newspaper theme). I do see that TagDiv says the Newspaper theme is compatible with WPML.

How can I make sure that a new/future theme I might buy does not have these compatibility issues?

Hello,

I assume we are talking about this "Sidebar" conflict issue with Newspaper theme:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/side-bar-not-working-well-when-enable-it-to-custom-archive/

If it is, according to our 2nd tier supporter has concluded that:
it is not possible to integrate this theme with Toolset:
Newspaper theme isn't using standard WordPress function the_content() to render the post output, but a complex custom function which does not output the content directly.

See details here:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/side-bar-not-working-well-when-enable-it-to-custom-archive/#post-522460

Since I don't have a copy of latest version of Newspaper theme, so I can not make sure if the compatibility issues will persist in new/future Newspaper theme, but you can test it and feedback if the problem still existed.

And there is a recommended theme list here:
https://toolset.com/documentation/recommended-themes/

For your reference.
