This might sound daft but I'd appreciate clarification please as to what 'automatic updates' actually means where a site is registered with Toolset.

When you guys update plugin files and roll out a new version, does this mean

a) my plugin files will be updated automatically without my knowledge (i.e. completely automated process)

OR

b) will I be automatically notified in wp-admin that an update is available and I need to activate the update manually?

If the answer is a), how do I receive notification that an update is available if I disable automatic updates via wp-config?

Hi Julie,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

The automatic update is referring to the ability for you to perform the updates through the backend after seeing the notification.

Without the registration key you will physically need to download and upload the plugins to your website.

Sorry no it's still not clear. Maybe I did a bad job phrasing my question. I'll try again.

I have a registration key for the site. When an updated Toolset plugin is rolled out, are my plugin files automatically updated (without my knowledge) OR am I simply notified (in wp-admin) and need to manually activate the update? In other words does Toolset's phrase "automatic updates" really mean UPDATES or does it actually mean NOTIFICATIONS?

Hi Julie,

It means notifications. So you will be notified on the backend that the updates are available and then you can perform the updates.
