This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
Set checked by default (on new post) is not working for CRED Add new post form.
Solution:
As of today, this is a known bug appeared in CRED v1.9.1 and is reported to be fixed soon. As a temporary solution you can Downgrade to Toolset CRED v1.9 to resolve the issue.
This support ticket is created 7 years, 3 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
No supporters are available to work today on Toolset forum. Feel free to create tickets and we will handle it as soon as we are online. Thank you for your understanding.
In the settings of my own post field, I set one option on "Set checked by default (on new post)?". Unfortunately, it stopped working.
I'm not sure but since the last update of the Toolset plug-in, I think since 01.08.2017.
2. Could you please also try to check it by deactivating all third-party plugins and switching back to the Default Theme (e.g. Twenty Sixteen theme) to see for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?
I need to take a look at your setup and to request temporary website WP-admin and FTP info for your site to debug further and to help in resolving this. Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.
=== Please backup your database and website ===
✙ I would additionally need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important.
✙ Please add the Link to the [CPT] Edit Screen where you have created Checkboxes field.
I have checked the checkboxes field default value in your site and it works as expected. I have recorded a small video to confirm this, please check and advise further: hidden link
The admin panel is ok. But the front-end is not ok - screen "brutto.jpg".
To check if this is not a bug of my files I switched back to Default Theme - no changes. The error is all the time.
And it's strange... In one form nothing is marked, and in the other everything. And in the admin panel I only marked "brutto"...
Now I can see what you want to achieve, but this is not a bug and it is expected behaviour.
Set checked by default (on new post)? option only works on the NEW created post, not on Add new Post form as far as the Post is not created but only the Post form is created, that’s why it is working on Edit post form because post is now created.
To Set checked by default , you need to add generic field and set checked by default values, see attached screenshots.
I have also added the generic checkboxes field (OPCJE)here: hidden link
Form link: hidden link
Thanks for the hint how to fix this, but earlier it was not needed.
It was enough that the box option was selected as the default and the same was displayed in the new CRED form (same in the edit form).
If not, why is there such an option as "Set checked by default (on new post)" ???...
I'm not sure, but I think it's stopped working after the last update of Toolset plugins (01.08.2017).
I'm scared, because it's not the first thing that stops working, or works differently after updating Toolset plugins ...
In the testing phase this is not a big problem yet, but as the service will be online, then ... I prefer not to think about it.
I wonder what will happen next ...
I will test tomorrow the way you told me.
How can I display the selected value (Brutto or Netto) in the post added?
And do not tell me please, that what I'm showing on the screen "brutto.jpg" is normal and so it's supposed to be ... After all, it's a manifestation of the Toolset error.
This should be fixed, because it is unacceptable for the edit form to dynamically change settings.
Ok I am going to reproduce this at my end and will report it ahead. I don't recall if it was working before but as you say it should work in CRED form too, I agree to it. I am going to reproduce it in my test site and update you further shortly.
No estimated time at moment, once I have anything from development team I will update you.
This will be updated in Toolset plugins but we can also provide a patch fix if it consists of updating few files.
