Hi everyone,

I have a post relationship with a custom field of the checkbox type. Within a post, when I go to "quick edit" of the related post, I want to be able to uncheck the box and save it by clicking Update for the relationship, and Update again for the post. This fails with the error "The related content has not been updated, as no fields were modified."

The other way around does work: I can check an unchecked box and save it. But to uncheck it, I need to remove the relationship and add it again.

I have attached the configuration of the field.

This was already reported in June 2021: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/cannot-save-unchecked-checkbox-field-when-editing-relationship-2/, as well as in 2018.

When will this be fixed?

Hello,

I assume we are talking about many-to-many relationship, as you mentioned above it is a known "Regression" issue, and had been escalated again, but I am not sure when will it be fixed, and I have add this thread to our to-do list, hope it can raise attention.

Currently, please try these:
1) Edit the many-to-many relationship, enable option "Intermediary Post Type visible in WordPress admin menu"
2) So you will be able to see the Intermediary Post Type in WordPress dashboard, edit each Intermediary Post and change the custom checkbox field directly.

Hi Luo,

Yes, it's a many-to-many relationship.

I tried your work around. In our case there will be a huge number of intermediary posts, and they have names that make it impossible to recognize them, like "relation-name: 133-293". It will be quicker for editors to remove and re-apply the relationship from within the related post.

I hope for a quick fix!

Unfortunately, there isn't any existed quick fix for it, currently, you need to try the workaround I mentioned above, and I will update here if there is any news.

Hello Luo,

Do you have a link to the issue report? I searched in https://toolset.com/known-issues/ but I found resolved issues only.

Thanks
