Tell us what you are trying to do?
Change my map's JSON file by clicking "upload new JSON file" in Toolset > Settings > Maps. But it says "save failed"

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?
No

What is the link to your site?

I've got the same error when importing a faulty JSON when removing existing, I can't even upload genuine JSON files, as simply JSON isn't recognized in the uploader.

This is not working fine.
How did you upload an actual JSON File? To me, not even this seems to work.

I've escalated this.

#1486365

I uploaded the json file through my media uploader. However I needed to change it, but clicking “remove” or “change” gives me that Save Error. Currently I can’t change anything on this page, do you think it can be resolved soon?

I will update you tomorrow about what I find, currently, I have no solution for it.

Thanks - if it *helps, two pieces of information for you:

1.) We disabled all other plugins and the theme, and the issue still persists, indicating this is indeed a plugin issue
2.) Previously, there was an problem between Toolset and my theme's archives - which Nigel from Toolset helped me solve. Perhaps this is related? I'm posting his instructions (which I followed) below:

Original reply from Nigel

I discussed with the developers and they don't have a solution yet, they have a deeper problem that has arisen because of changes made to custom archives to work with the block editor and it is going to take some time to come up with a solution.

However, for your theme they have provided a temporary patch that you can use with your theme so that you can continue with this project. It is a fix specifically for you, not a general solution, and you would need to re-apply it after any Views updates if that update doesn't contain a permanent solution.

Download the following zip file: hidden link

Replace the existing file wp-content/plugins/wp-views/embedded/inc/wpv-archive-loop.php with the patched file.

I'll leave this as escalated so that I can update you when there is news about a permanent fix.

You could test if Nigels's patch has an effect on this by doing what follows:

1. Delete the current Toolset Views plugin
2. Download a fresh copy from https://toolset.com/account/downloads/
3. Install that fresh Views plugin on your site and test again

If then the issue still happens it is not due to the patch if it does not happen anymore, it is likely due to the patch and you can then confirm that by re-following Nigel's steps.

But, since I was able to actually replicate the issue (even worse, where I cannot upload anything, or delete), I do not think it's that.
As mentioned we will have to analyse and fix this, then provide a solution.

I will keep you in the loop as soon as I have news.

So, this seems to work nonetheless. I had an error in my JSON - I can now successfully upload and add or remove my own Maps JSONs.

Can you please let me try this online on your site if the issue persists after the previous tests I suggested?

It seems to be something particular to the files we use.

#1489425

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
