Cannot alter media description when adding via a custom field group

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Hi,

I cannot alter the different media description fields when I add a custom post type that is related to another custom post type ...

In my case I have a CPT "Event Date" and further CPTs like "Event Company", "Event Venue" and "Event Basic Data". These three CPTs are related to the "Event Date".

When I add an new "Event Date" and within its edit page I often add one or more related CPTs. A Pop-up window appears then and I can add data. In the case of a media field (as a custom field that is defined in a group of fields for that "Sub"-CPT) the media-explorer pop-ups, too. I can search for a media file or add new images.

But what I cannot: alter any of the description fields for the newly uploaded media files. It seems to be a bug.

To alter these text information fields I have to switch to the post of the related CPTs. When editing the related CPTs directly, all is fine as usual.

Thanks for the feedback, I can duplicate the same problem, and have escalated this issue, will update here if there is anything news.

Currently, please try to edit the related CPTs directly, and setup the image details.
