When I include the [wpv-post-excerpt] shortcode in my loop for a slider view, I don't just get the excerpt. I also get the Post Date and Post Contents Number, which appears right at the front of the excerpt. There appears to be no way to exclude this information.

This is wrong; please fix this! If I want those two fields, I will add them myself.

Thanks,

David McLeod

Hi David,

Thank you for contacting us and I'll be happy to assist.

I couldn't reproduce this behavior of [wpv-post-excerpt] shortcode on my test website.

To troubleshoot, why this is happening on your website, I'll suggest testing the shortcode, after disabling all plugins except the Toolset.

If the issue is resolved, you can start activating the disabled plugins, one-by-one, to narrow this down to a possible conflicting one.

In case the issue still persists, please test the shortcode with a default WordPress theme like Twenty Seventeen activated, to rule out any theme or custom code conflict.

If it still behaves the same, I'll need access to the website's admin area, to log in and see how the slider view is configured.

You're welcome to share the login details and information about where exactly the shortcode is being used, in your next reply. It will be private which means only you and our support team will have access to it.

Important Note: Please backup your database and website before sharing the access information.

regards,
Waqar

I found the problem.

I thought I had created a separate entry in the Excerpt field for my post. But I had not, so Divi was constructing a default excerpt from the body of the post, and that default excerpt includes those two extraneous pieces of information.

When I created an explicit excerpt for the post, it displayed properly, without the extraneous information.

Apologies, the problem is not with Toolset, but with Divi. I will let them know about it.

Cheers,

David
