I have updated Toolset Views plugin to its last version 2.9.
But then some pages, with Bootstrap code, stopped working properly (buttons do not respond, missing data ecc…).
So I had to downgrade to version 2.8.4.

Hi there

Can you give specific examples of what has stopped working with the update to Views 2.9?

The update includes a change to the settings page at Toolset > Settings where you can specify the Bootstrap version that should be used. For existing sites it's recommended you continue using Bootstrap 3 and only switch to Bootstrap 4 on new sites.

Hi, I will attach two screen:
The first one with plugin 2.9, the second 2.8.4

I tried with all of the settings with both of versions: 2.9 never works, 2.8.4 always (third screen)

It's not clear from the two screenshots what the difference is with respect to Bootstrap. The 2.8.4 screenshot shows the display of a post which has lots of data. The 2.9 screenshot has the same layout, but there are no values for any fields.

I don't know whether you are simply showing a post that has no content, or whether it is the same post and this is the issue you are reporting, that the fields are not output. (Which would not be related to Bootstrap.)

Perhaps I can get access to your site so that I can look myself?

I will mark your next reply as private so that I can get log-in credentials from you—you may want to create a temporary admin user for me to use that you can later delete. And be sure to have a current backup of your site, even though I don't intend to make any changes, except I may temporarily add a backup plugin to take a snapshot of the site if needed.

Can you also confirm the url to be able to see what is shown in the screenshots?

I wrote about Bootstrap, because of your mail:

Hi Tommaso,

We just released new versions for Toolset Views, Forms, Types, and Layouts plugins. They introduce a much-requested integration with Bootstrap 4.

Anyway, on mobile version of the same page (which is a premium one, not visible to non-member users), bootstrap buttons are not working with 2.9 version.

The announcement post for Bootstrap 4 support mentions that it should not be used on existing sites, only new ones, and you should make sure that in Toolset > Settings your site continues to use Bootstrap 3.

But that still leaves me not knowing what the issue is that you are reporting.

That the field values are not being output when you update to Views 2.9?

Yes, one the desktop page. On mobile bootstrap buttons stop working.

In addition upgrading Toolset Types, Avada theme's tabs stop working. I had to downgrade to version 3.3.2

Hi Tommaso,

Thanks for writing back.

Nigel is away on vacation and will be back tomorrow, so I'll be following up on this ticket.

Can you please share temporary admin login details, as Nigel requested earlier? This will help us troubleshoot for any possible compatibility issue.
( note: your next reply will be private )

Please also share the link to pages where the missing/broken elements can be seen, when using the up-to-date Toolset plugins.

regards,
Waqar

Hi Tommaso,

Thank you for sharing the admin access and the details about the issues.

Since it is a live website, I understand that you can't update the Types and Views plugins to the latest versions, but then we can't see the issues and troubleshoot them accordingly.

I wasn't able to reproduce these issues on my test website, during initial testing with Avada theme, but would it be possible for you to share clone/snapshot of your website?
( ref: https://toolset.com/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/ )

This way, we'll be able to troubleshoot these issues with the latest plugin versions, on the offline test server, while your live website will continue to use the older versions.

Appreciate your time and report.
