[Resolved] Child posts disappear when saving parent posts

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Saving a parent post resets all of the child posts so that they become parent posts.

Solution:
The issue arises from a conflict with the Post Type Switcher plugin and disappears when that plugin is disabled.

Please help! I have created a parent post type called architects. And child post type called news.
Every time I make an update to the parent post, all of the child posts become parents as well!!!

Hi Maria

I suspect there may be a conflict with another plugin involved here, in particular the Post Type Switcher plugin.

Could you please disable all non-Toolset plugins and re-test. You should hopefully find that updating a parent post does not affect the child posts anymore.

Then try re-enabling your plugins one-by-one to establish which is causing a conflict, if any. I suggest you start with the Post Type Switcher plugin.

If disabling all of the non-Toolset plugins did not resolve the problem, could you also test your theme by switching to a standard theme such as twentyseventeen.

Let me know how you get on.
