I am trying to: set an archive to full width but it is not responding to the setting. I made the change under customiser but it's not responding. I then tried to make the change on the archive itself under the ASTRA THEME SETTINGS section but that made no difference. If I add it via code on CSS it works but if I use the default customiser/astra settings it does not work. Infact it does not responding to any setting linked to page layout, be it full (width/strettched) or (full width/contained) or any of the other settings. I have a number of archives on my website and on all the archive pages I have been able to easily adjust the layout as per need but since then there's been two Astra/wordpress updates which maybe are the cause I don't or perhaps things changed on your end?

NB! Unfortunately I can't send you admin details to login cause the site is behind a gateway/firewall and you need a VPN to connect to it.

The post archive is using the grid layout(not sure if this is relavant info but, I am giving detail to help you recreate the issue).
Please assist and it's quite urgent, my last support ticket took such a long time to be replied to that I eventually cancelled what I was doing and tried a different option.

Regards

Hi there

I set up a test site on our sandbox to check that the Astra theme settings are working as intended, and I'm struggling to get them to work. It looks like something may have changed with Astra that has affected how they work.

So I'm escalating this so we can look into it further.

We don't need access to your site given that we can reproduce the problem.

I'll get back to you with our findings.

Hello Simphiwe Ntuli:

Nigel is on vacation and let me step-in here - I hope this is OK.

I checked the internal ticket and there is no update to share with you and yet there is no ETA on when the fix will made available.

Is there a work around I can employ in the meantime cause now this is the main issue stopping me from completing the website I am building.

I took another look just now to see if I could identify some short cut, but the changes in Astra are quite extensive and it is not straightforward.

In Astra's customizer settings, there are settings for individual post type archives.

A key shortcoming is that there is no separate setting within Astra for the archive Layout: it inherits the Layout setting from the Blog customizer settings. If you have chosen Grid for the blog layout it will also apply Grid for the custom post type archives, and it is difficult to break out of the container styles that are then applied.

You will note that if you disable Toolset blocks so that you are not using it for the archives and what is displayed when visiting a post type archive is what is output by Astra, that it is not possible to use a grid layout for the blog and a list layout for a custom post type archive (which provides more flexibility in styling by Toolset with custom archives).

If Astra support could tell you how to apply different settings to the blog layout and a custom post type archive layout, I could probably use that may enable the Toolset styles to work on your custom archives.

The developers will get to this and should be in a position to produce a solution, but for a workaround that information from Astra would help. Otherwise the alternative is to review the CSS applied on the front end by Astra so that you can add custom CSS to override its styling as needed.
