[Resolved] After updating Types, Views no longer has auto update.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Types was updated from the plugins page to Types 2.3 and it was no longer possible to update other Toolset plugins such as Views from the plugin admin pages.

Solution:
This was an unexpected side effect of a Types update that will be fixed in Types 2.3.1, which will restore the ability to update sites from the Toolset servers directly from the WP admin pages.

I'm registered on all my sites for toolset and saw that both Types and Views needed updating.

I went ahead and updated Types on all my sites with Infinite WP control panel and now all the views plugins no longer request updating, but they are an older version. There appears to be no way to re-register the site to try to get the auto update to kick in. Do you know what I can do?

Thanks
Bryan

Hi Bryan

We have a number of clients reporting problems updating or with site registration, but I suspect your issue may be different.

I'm not familiar with what to expect when updating via Infinite WP because Types includes its own installer for registered sites.

Types 3.0 is now part of the paid Toolset suite.

Types 2.2.23 got an upgrade to Types 2.3 in the WP plugin repo, which is an update for users of the free Types that will be maintained for legacy purposes, but which no longer includes the installer for registered sites because it is not part of the Toolset suite.

If you have used a 3rd party plugin to update Types it may have updated to 2.3 from the WP plugin repo rather than to Types 3.0 from our own servers.

You will need to visit the sites and manually verify which version of Types is installed. If it is 2.3 you will need to download 3.0 from your account page (wp-types.com/account/downloads) and install it directly.

If they already have Types 3.0 installed but the updates are not working for some reason, please let me know.

That's what it looks like it did. I had to download the 3.0 version of Types and install it manually, then the Views showed it needed updating.

Thanks
Bryan
