1 - Correct address, no map.png
2 - Suggestion is clicked, which results in picture 3.png
3 - Updated map (which does not stick).png

On some (not all... and I don't know what the difference might be) address custom fields the address does not show on the map. The address is in the input field, but a grey box shows where the map should be. When I click on the input field an address suggestion appears (with the exact same info that was already in there). When I 're-enter' the address the map provides the correct address. When I publish the page the grey box is back again.

I'm using the Google API which seems to be running correct.

Hi Bob,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Would you mind allowing me to have admin access to the website ? As well as a link to one of the pages where the map isn't showing up ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Bob,

I took a look at this for you and it seems to be working fine. See Screenshot.

So i'm not seeing any issues here.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

That's strange. I re-checked in Chrome and Firefox (MacOS 10.14.1) using my own admin and the one I created for you. All instances show the grey map field.

Did you see the map right away or did you have to click the address field first and 're-enter'?

BTW can you crop your screenshot a bit, so the client e-mail address is not shown?

Hi Bob,

I had to use the autocomplete. It seems to be that google is complaining about the address, I actually dont know how to describe this as you address is the exact same as the auto complete.

It seems to be google wants to use its own format.

Thanks,
Shane

I'm rebuilding the site in Generatepress/Elementor. I got tired of trying to make Divi do what I wanted. Once I have this setup I will look at the map issue again. Perhaps some wonder will take place in the process...

Hi Shane,

The solution is here a lot quicker than expected!
On my new setup the Toolset setting for the Maps API complained about not having the the right permissions. This seemed strange, since I did not change anything. I noticed the I only had 'Maps Embed' and 'Maps JavaScript' API restrictions ticked in the Google developer panel. I added the Geocoding API and the Eagle has landed.

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!
