Suddenly the add to chart button is not working anymore. Any ideas for this. The customers cannot buy anything on the website.

Can you first try to follow the basic debug steps in order to isolate the issue and to know first what causing the issue.
If your site is live you can setup a staging site and install there copy of your production site and run few test for compatibility issue.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as with the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?
-Do you see any difference?
- What if you deactivate Toolset plugins, if the issue still persists then that means Toolset is not part of this cause.
