Last week, I had a client (hidden link) report the fact they could no longer add media to their site.

When I logged in to check, I could add media through the media pages, but on the posts and pages editor, the add media button wasn't working.

I disabled all plugins and enabled one by one. I discovered that when I reenabled the Access plugin (that I use to limit school logins on sites) that the Add Media button stopped working again, so I then disabled everything but the Access plugin, and the same thing, no joy with the button.

So, for now, I have left access disabled, hoping that the database changes might still be in effect whilst I look into this. However, today, I had another school report the issue (after having updated plugins on their site) so I disabled the Access plugin and it still didn't function, so then I disabled the Types plugin as well on theirs (hidden link) and then the Add Media bytton started working again, which means I now need to rebuild sections of their site.

This appears to be in the latest versions of the plugins that it is happening, and means that I now cannot use your plugin on any of my client sites, which is going to cost me a lot of work and investigation to find out alternative plugins to make the things I use yours for work, unless you can offer me a fix by tomorrow.

Thanks
Andy

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

With the URL you shared, I do not see any media button: hidden link

However - it looks like you are using the Smush Pro plugin, Can you please try to add the following fix shared by the Smush Pro plugin and check if that helps you to resolve your issue.
=> hidden link

If the above solution do not work, I need a problem URL where I can see the issue and access details.

*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.

Hi Minesh

I'm not sure you quite understood. There won't be a media button on the link shared, as the "Add Media" button I refer to is the one available on every Add/Edit Post/Page in the dashboard.

However, I've run that Smush Fix and it would appear that has done the trick initially, so I will check in with the client to make sure they're happy too.

thanks
Andy

Yes - I suspected, most probably that will do the trick, as I see many users reported related issues and we are lucky that it will help you to quickly solve the problem.
