Hello!
I would like to add custom fields
in a custom taxonomy, it's possible with toolset?

Example:
I created many custom posts (movies)
and I added many custom fields with toolset,
one of these is the "director" field.

I would like to include in the description
of each director: photo of the director,
year and place of birth and biography.
In addition, of course, also the filmography,
but it will appear under the description
because "director" is a archive of taxonomy.

I would also like to create a form
for filling out these fields in front-end.
like I did for my movies here with cred and access:
hidden link

Is it possible to do all this?

Otherwise what do you advise me to do?

My client would like a link building artwork in his movies!

I trust in your help always ready and capable. Thanks in advance

Hi Rita,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

It is possible to create custom fields for Taxonomies. Take a look at the link below.
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/term-fields/

This should guide you on how to do this.

To display the term fields you can have a look at this link here

Finally you won't be able to create a CRED form for the taxonomy to create them on the frontend as CRED forms are limited to creating Posts.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

yes, what you wrote helped me a lot. I was able to create fields for my personalized taxonomy. I will have the data entered to my client from the backend. It would be very interesting, however, to have the way to enter this data with a cred form in future..

I did not understand very well how to show my custom fields in front-end

because I would like to have the conditional. If a custom field is full then I would like to see it, if a custom field is empty I would not like to see it. I tried to insert the shortcodes I use to show my custom toolset posts but they do not work for taxonomy fields.

Can you help in this displaying?

Hi Rita,

In order to best assist I would like to know where you are displaying the taxonomy custom field. Is this on a taxonomy archive?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

sorry for the delay in writing my answer.
Yes.. This is on a taxonomy archive.
You can see a custom taxonomy archive with custom fields here: hidden link

"regista" in the slug is a custom taxonomy of custom post with toolset (film).

I would really like to show my personal fields in "director" and translate them. I can not with the conditional tags I use for custom post (film) and I can not even translate.
I'd like to translate the biography of my directors.
can you help me?

I see:
"Conditional display Conditional display is not supported for Term fields." in TOOLSET > Term Field Groups > (edit)

so I was thinking of a solution ...
I would really like that even my directors can:
1. have custom fields (visible if present, not visible if empty)
2. be translated

Is the custum field translation supported or is it not provided for conditional shortcodes?

I thought:
1. I can transform my custom taxonomy custom field into custom field of new custom post.
(I create a new personalized post: "directors" and then insert my personalized fields and translate them: just as I have already done for my films)

However ... when I created the films, I added the custom "directors" field in which each director was a personalized taxonomy. The archive of personalized taxonomy "directors" is also a list of films that have directed my directors: filmography.

If you create a new personalized post "directors" then how can I connect the taxonomy archive with all the films?

I do not know if I could explain correctly.

#609046

the solution maybe could be simple:

is there a way to insert in the simple description of the personalized taxonomy "directors" instead of some custom fields a shortcode of a new personalized post (example "Korean-Korean directors" with all custom field)?

in this way I could:
- create custom posts (Korean directors)
- insert custom fields in my custom posts (date of birth, sex, biography ...)
- translate all my custom posts and custom fields of them
- insert my custom posts (directors-Koreans) within the personalized taxonomy (directors) and see all the films that directed that director
(because previously I had created my custom post (film) with the personalized taxonomy (directors) that shows in the archive all the films of that director).

maybe now I have explained my situation and my problem better.

I explained?
I'm waiting for feedback

Hi Rita,

If this is for a custom taxonomy archive then you can just edit your custom archive and click the Fields and Views button and then add the Description or custom field shortcode in the Editor. See Screenshot

Would you mind allowing me to have admin access as well so that I can get a much better look at the issue and we can go step by step ?

Your last replies left me a bit confused as the issue of this ticket is to add and display custom fields of a taxonomy.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Rita,

Thanks for the clarity.

So were you able to get everything working ? what is there left to do ?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

I still have to do everything. Why: confirm that you can not show custom fields in custom taxonomy with the conditions? and also confirm that they can not be translated?

If you confirm then I just have to try my solution.
But ... I'm not clear how to insert a specific custom post in a specific custom taxonomy.

it's better that I open a new ticket?
