Hello,

I created a new user, and gave her the default Editor role. I logged in as this user to check permissions, and found out that this new user can not edit any published posts, even though I am using the default Editor role.

I made a clone of the live site to debug. When I disable the Access plugin, the user can edit again.

I have not altered the default role, so Access should not be affecting the user, but it is.

Please advise.

Hello,

Please try this:
- login as the new editor user
- create a post

Check if you can edit other edit other posts

Luo,

I tried, and the issue was still happening. I had to go into Access and uncheck the box that says that Access controls Posts and Categories. I don't know why it is disabling permissions when that box is checked, because I had all the permissions turned on.

There isn't similar problem in my localhost, please try these:

1) Upgrade the access plugin to the latest version 2.6.1, you can download it here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2019, and test again

3) Create a new editor user, use this editor user to create a new post, and test it again

4) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, also point out the problem page URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

Luo,

I haven't had time to dig into this issue. I resolved this temporarily by going into Access and changing the setting so the Access does not control posts.

I will look into this issue soon.
