[Resolved] Site URL in Form notification transforms to a clickable Embed Link

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
We are adding Site URL to our Forms Notifications like so http://site.tld/
This transforms to a clickable, embedded link in the Form Notification email received.

Solution:
This issue is due to how the Notifications receive their formatting and can't be changed in Toolset. There is however a workaround explained here https://toolset.com/errata/toolset-notifications-convert-site-url-to-a-clickable-link-with-static-homepage-as-label/

Hi, I think we have already interacted in past, I am sorry that I have to ask you if we could proceed in English?

1. The issue, where you see the URL (hidden link) producing an actual, clickable Link in the Email notification is reported.
We have been able to replicate this, it is a BUG, and will be solved in future

2. The issue where the entire Home Page content is pushed to that notification, is strange.

I will need to investigate that more on your copy of the site, as I was not able to replicate this, and it may be an exception.

I have everything I need, I will analyze the particular left over problem tomorrow and update you here about.

Thanks a lot for your Patience!

On the Duplicator I have received here where many Plugins installed that do not belong to Toolset.
In any case wether I do not or do activate them when I deploy the duplicate, it fails.
Half of the data is missing from this Duplicate.

I tried hence the copy my colleague Luo prepared for this issue when he reported it to me, that allowed me to replicate the website locally.
However the half of the native WP Install was missing too, no notice provided.

According the report, when you send an email thru the form wp-admin/post.php?post=17&action=edit, then the entire Homepage Content is added to the Email notification body.

I submitted that Form, I see no HTML of the Homepage added to the email incoming.
I only see the "Home page" link, which is wrong, yes, but reported.

No other issue.
Added ScreenShot of both Mobile, and Debugged notification.
There is no content of the HomePage, nor HTML of the HomePage, added to this Email.

If you refer to the hidden HTML in the notification, as in

<blockquote class="wp-embedded-content" data-secret="IGJ81IxdfG"><p><a href="<em><u>hidden link</u></em>">home page</a></p></blockquote>
<p><iframe class="wp-embedded-content" sandbox="allow-scripts" security="restricted" style="position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);" src="<em><u>hidden link</u></em>" data-secret="IGJ81IxdfG" width="525" height="296" title=""home page" — wp" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no"></iframe></p>

That is not part of any home page HTML, and this issue is due to having the HomePage URL in the Notification, + a custom home page URL defined.

That issue, is already reported.
This is just a side effect of the same issue.

Hence, I consider all problems here handled.

The Current Workaround:
Insert the URL with our ShortCode instead, that works fine:
[wpv-bloginfo show="url"]

If you insert hidden link it will break instead

Hi Beda,

Thank for your support.

I will use the shortcode before the debugging is complete.

Thank you and Luo Yang.

It may be that this solution does not work on your install as there seem to be more elements in your Form, than there where in the Form I received in the Duplicate.

However, on my local install, this solved the issue - but that does not mean it is the solution.

The solution, in this specific case, is:

1. Wait until the developer fix the issue
2. Or, do not use static home page
3. Or, do not call hidden link on the Email body.

The problem is reported to the developers, and they will take a look.
