We just published a brand new training course on designing sites in WordPress. It covers essential design theory and how to apply it to your own projects built with Toolset.

You can find the new WordPress Design Course in our documentation. Here’s what you’ll find in the course.

Introduction to site designing with Toolset

You can control some of these in the Customizer’s Site Identity tab and add:

  • Site Title
  • Tagline
  • Logo
  • Favicon (Site Icon)

Last but not least, there’s also plenty of helpful tips about how you can create and design a custom Logo or Favicon yourself.

  1. Hi,

Glad to see that new articles about how to build WordPress websites with Toolset are being added.

Recently, I took help from support on building my own custom LMS and the support personal very much helped me display the table of contents of the current course using Toolset Views.

Since there is virtually no limit on what can be achieved using the Toolset, my suggestion is to add the custom LMS project in your list as more and more people are now considering starting their own LMS websites.

Although I don’t say that Toolset can’t 100% match all the features of popular LMS plugins, but to a certain extent, Toolset can very much help in building a basic LMS for the average users.

I started with creating three custom post types viz Courses, Chapters & Lessons. After that, I created Course – Chapters & Chapters – Lessons one-to-many relationships.

Now my only requirement was to display a hierarchical table of contents along with the course name in the sidebar so that people find it easy to browse & navigate the course chapters & lessons.

The successful implementation of a basic LMS is worth considering to be added as a case study.

    • Hi, Alok! Actually, our Training Courses here on Toolset.com were done in a very similar way: Courses > Chapters > Lessons. They are connected through post relationships.

Thank you for the comment, I will pass your suggestion about us preparing such a course or a tutorial.

  2. Hi Dario,

Actually, the courses on Toolset.com is what inspired me to go with my own custom LMS using Toolset.

I must confess that I copied the Courses> Chapters > Lessons concept from Toolset website.

My bad that I forgot to mention all this in my original reply.

    Thanks,

    Alok
