4 Hours Downtime for wp-types.com

Last night, an unfortunate human error caused wp-types.com to be down for several hours. We had to restore the site from backup, done just before the crash.

The site seems to be working normally now. It’s late here and we’re thinking about closing it for the night. If you still experience problems, please let us know. You can leave a comment here or in our company contact form.

Hint, in case you’re upgrading WordPress. WP 4.2 uses a new charset schema (for those lovely emocations). We had to add a few critical indexes to our DB. An accidental update to WP 4.2 updated the DB. It reverted the indexes that we manually added and changed some that we edited. The results were very negative for our server.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll make sure that nothing is lost and there are no further problems.

    I don’t know if you are aware about it.
    Unfortunately also the code in your support forum is affected.
    Maybe a consequence of the site failure you had recently?
