We’re happy to release CRED 1.2.5. This time, no big new features, but a nice collection of fixes and improvements.

Send notification to the Author

CRED can now send notifications to the author of submitted content. This is useful when you want to send updates to the original author. For example, if the status of a post was changed by a site admin.

Coming next to CRED

The next major CRED version is going to QA soon. In this version we say goodbye to the Zebra forms library, which has served us so far. By removing Zebra forms, we will make it a lot easier to customize and style CRED forms on the site’s frontend.

Then, we get ready for the really nice features that we’ve been planning for so long – support for users, multi-page forms, and more.

  1. Uhh, folks. This is totally weird, but I am seeing and “Edit” link at the bottom of this post that is supposed to take me to the post edit screen of your site. I also see “Logged in as bruce” here above this comment form.

      • I see.

Out of curiosity, would you mind telling me what W3TC configuration was that? I don’t want to stumble upon such a thing on my sites.

        Thank you.

        • I allowed caching for logged in users. Forgot about the login state at the bottom of posts and pages.

  2. Support for user fields is something I am eagerly awaiting!
If I may make another suggestion/feature request:
Combine the create and edit post options so we do not have to make 2 identical forms but can use just 1 form for both actions (the edit form usually is the same as the create form).

  3. Hi Amir,

My team is about to embark on a massive project making use of Types, Views, CRED, WPML, custom roles with conditional data display, Accessibility, etc

CRED will play a major role in this (5+ long and heavily customized forms), and I’d be open to help debug the next version of Zebra-less CRED, if you need help. Let me know.

    • Hi Ben,
we are working on the next major release of CRED and the time picker will be present close to the date field.
The functionality will be in front-end the same like in back-end.

      Thanks.

  4. Any time frames for the removal of the zebra forms library.? The forma should be able to created without styling as well to make use of your default template styling

    • Yes! We’re almost there. Finally, CRED 1.3, with the new fields library (and no Zebra forms) is going into testing. We will release a beta version as soon as we’re done with our initial testing. It’s taken a while because changing the fields library practically meant rewriting the plugin, but it’s work it.
