Views 1.1.2 Ready

August 27, 2012

We’re ready with a bug-fix release for Views. This version addresses several annoying bugs, that we received over the last few weeks and allows running our Demos Downloader.

Views 1.1.2 is a maintenance release. These are the bugs it fixes:

  • Datepicker for custom searches
  • Sorting for filter controls
  • Set template when adding child posts via Field Tables
  • Added default values in drop-down filters

Besides these fixes, this version of Views is also compatible with our Views Demo Downloader. This means that you can install the production Views (the normal version) on the demo sites that you create and follow everything. I hope this makes it easier, and more fun, to use.

Enjoy!

    • piklist site looks interesting and their presentation is great. One thing that is an advantage in Views over piklist is that it costs money. Yup, costing money is actually an advantage, not a problem. This means that we put considerable resources behind our plugins. We now have 3 full-time developers, two support people and full-time QA. That’s besides documentation, reference sites and graphics design.

When you need a reliable solution for your client work, I’m hoping that this reliability and dedication is more significant than the cost of the plugin.

      • Hi Amir.. I have an irrelevant question 🙂 and want to know it here.. coz i dont find the solution. I want to use Advanced Custom Fields with Repeater, I manually change some code in the files and it makes Repeater active .. But on my post page(where I use this option), the fields whom I put their type Repeater are not showing the fine result.. The fields are auto repeating 999 times and at last there is also having button of Add New Row.. The problem is that how I get rid of these auto repeating fields. I want to repeat these fields on clicking Add Row.

      • I payed for the plugin with great joy, but I am seeing that a lot of better functionality is created in other plugins like pklist. I am recreating an other site and really want to know the future of wp-types… what are you guys working on and when will it be released?

        • Next features going in to Types 1.0.5 are the ability to resize images from remote URLs, better access control and the ability to search custom fields. What features are on your wishlist?

          • Well, that sounds great! what I would love is the ability to sort field groups (so I can manage with appears first and wich appears last when creating a custom post type). I would also love the addition of a field to “add” html / video / other custom stuff. The last would be the ability to add js / css. The last thing would be the ability to add an options panel thats integrated with types.

I love CRUD and that you are integrated types with it!

            • Lots of good ideas here. Some are already on our development plan and I’ll see what we can do about the others. Thanks!

    • Hi, I purchased your product because i have 3 sites that i could use this functionality on. i am working with piklist to add the same to the site while recreating the site using types and views on a wp multisite installation i have on another host. I am recreating a site that is currently with Wild Apricot membership software. us-aerospace.com . Please let me know your thoughts. I am using Digital Access Pass to do the membership piece.

I have no trouble paying for software that works,

      Thank you, Susan

  1. Hey Amir, sorry to revive an old thread…but I’m wondering if Piklist and toolset can be combined to get the best of both worlds? For example, can CRED be used to display a Piklist form on the front end? Piklist just came out with “infinite Add-Mores” (group repeater fields) which is something I can definitely use in quite a few projects.

    • This is a great question. Fiddling with both plugins activated & it appears that I can select any Piklist field in Views using Post Field, but I need to manually enter the slugs.

It sure seems like there might be tremendous value if these 2 companies partnered. Toolset gets a lot of things right with Views. They don’t seem to have as much control over the admin pages, though. And, maybe a thing like Piklist could replace CRED.
