Is it possible to assign a taxonomy or a relationship to a user

Problem: I would like to know if it's possible to assign a taxonomy to a User, or to create a relationship with a User. Solution: The most flexible approach is to use a proxy post type that represents Users, and set each User to be the author of one proxy post. Then you can assign taxonomies and post relationships to the proxy post. Filter archive by Custom post type
Started by: sergeP
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I would like to allow Users to filter a WordPress Archive by post type, but the code sample I've seen in another ticket doesn't seem to be working for me. Solution: The wpv_filter_query filter is only designed for use with Views, not with WordPress Archives. To apply a similar filter in a WordPress Archive location, you would have to recreate the WordPress Archive using a View. Then apply the wpv_filter_query filter to the View. Relevant Documentation: |

Filter no longer work when – filter the taxonomy via a URL argument
Started by: sergeP
in: Toolset Professional Support
Problem: I have a custom search View that allows Users to filter by taxonomy term using a front-end filter and URL parameter. If I link to the page with a URL parameter already added in the URL, the results load as expected. However, the User is not able to change the query to filter by a different term. The filter is not applied and the URL does not change. Solution: Since it is possible to apply multiple terms from a taxonomy, the URL parameter syntax is a bit different. You should use brackets in the URL parameter syntax to indicate more than one value is possible. The HTML entities for brackets are %5B%5D, so the new URL will be: https://your-site.fr/custom-search-page/?wpv-genre-musical%5B%5D=jazz Without the brackets, the custom search feature will not work as expected. |
