The customer’s site appeared to be connected to Toolset, but plugin updates were not showing on the website.
Solution:
The recommended fix was to manually update the Toolset plugins first, then refresh the site registration by unregistering and registering the site again from the Commercial tab using a newly generated site key. This ensures the site connection is current and allows updates to come through correctly.
The customer wanted to create a slider for videos similar to an existing image slider on their site. Although the videos were set up as custom fields, they were currently displayed in a row on the page instead of a slider format.
Solution:
We advised the customer that Toolset does not have a built-in feature to directly display multiple videos from a custom field in a slider. Instead, we provided a custom HTML structure using the [wpv-for-each] shortcode to wrap the video outputs, along with custom CSS to style the videos in a slider-like format. This allowed the videos to be visually organized, improving their appearance.
You can start by wrapping your video outputs in a custom HTML structure like this:
The customer is experiencing a connection error preventing Toolset from communicating with its server to check for updates. The error message indicates a cURL error 28, specifying that the connection to api.toolset.com failed. The customer has already checked with their host, and the firewall does not appear to be blocking the connection. Despite confirming that there are no restrictions, the issue persists, and the host suspects it might be related to the Toolset plugin.
Solution:
We suggested adding specific Toolset-related IP addresses to the server's allow list and ensuring that the server correctly resolves the domain names to their respective IPs. We also advised checking if the cURL library on the server is up-to-date. After further investigation, we confirmed that there were no blocks on our end and recommended the customer recheck with their hosting provider, possibly disabling the firewall temporarily to test the connection.
We document known issues and their solutions in Toolset errata. Save time by checking there first and seeing if what you are facing is a known issue. This list is kept short. We do our best to resolve all known issues with every release of Toolset plugins.
