We recently resolved a similar problem (see https://toolset.com/errata/content-of-wysiwyg-field-lost-when-updating-posts/).

A couple of users have reported that the problem still occurs if the post type has the post content section disabled, although we are struggling to consistently reproduce that. Nevertheless a developer is currently looking into that issue.

While testing the above, we also noticed that sometimes the tinyMCE editor doesn't initialise properly when using the Visual tab, which appears empty. Switching to the text tab shows that there is content there, but it looks empty. We are also looking into this, but it appears to be a problem in the WordPress community generally for plugins using tinyMCE since WP 5.6.

Do either of these describe your situation (post_content is disabled for the post type, or the Visual tab doesn't initialise properly and hence doesn't show content which can be seen by switching to the Text tab)?

If so we can add your details to the existing internal ticket.

Yes that's the Problem. Now I downgraded to .12 but my whole Content is lost? Switching back to .14 doesnt change anything

Which of the two issues I described is the problem you are experiencing?

You have a custom post type where you disabled the post_content from the editor, and now WYSIWYG field values don't save?

Or the Visual tab of the WYSIWYG doesn't initialise properly and appears to be empty, though switching to the Text tab shows the content is there?

First I only had this problem:

Or the Visual tab of the WYSIWYG doesn't initialise properly and appears to be empty, though switching to the Text tab shows the content is there?

Now that I downgraded I have totally empty Fields.

Enabling or Disabling Post Content Editor doesnt change anything either...

I am afraid the contents of the fields that have been lost are lost. You can build a recent backup in another machine and manually, or programmatically, copy the values from this backup to the live site. Let me know if you need me to elaborate on this!

As Nigel said, our developers are working on this issue to fix it. We would like to get a copy of your website, so we can use it for debugging the issue or testing it. Would it be fine with you?
