Could you please elaborate a little more on this issue, so I can better understand? E.g. Is there an error message, what are the steps you've tried, etc.
Sometimes screenshots illustrating what you mean may go a long way to clarify what words fail to transmit, so if you like, make use of “upload an image” below the comment area.
Hello Mateus,
1. We have created WPML Groups. So need to assign that group to allow only that language content filling by user/editor.
2. So I followed Creating Editors for Specific Language url found on same page but not able to do that with that documentaiton.
3. Please let me know how we configure this or how we set that groups to editors?
Update I have found the list and working now.
But there is one more thing I want assistance. My editor should only access the particular language access only not more that one.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
Further, show us exactly which user in the website you're referring to. Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.
Upon further inspection, we could achieve the desired results with a certain user we created (german_editor: hidden link), that I will share with you his login credentials in my next private response. We have followed these steps:
#1 Creating the user and assigning a language pair to him
- Go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Translators: hidden link
- Click on the '+ Add a Translator' button, and choose 'Create a new user and set as Translator'. You could create the user first in the Users -> Add New option, and then assign it as a translator using the first option
- We gave this user the 'Subscriber' role, as this ensures that he will only have the permissions that we will assign to him in the following steps
#2 Allowing access only to German content
- Now, go to Toolset -> Access Control -> WPML Groups
- We could check that you already created the 'Germany Pages' group, so we used it to give our user the right permissions, like this: hidden link
- Therefore, you need to add your user to every permission (highlighted in red) on this group - which is specific for German pages (and only Pages, the other post types are not included on this, if you want to add them, just click on the 'Modify WPML Group' button and select the desired post types)
#3 Sending translations to the German editor/translator
- Now one of the admin users needs to go WPML -> Translation Management -> Dashboard
- Select the Pages that the translator need to translate
- Send them to Translation Basket
- Go to the Translation Basket tab, and assign the jobs translation to the 'german_editor'
At last, the editor/translator should login into his WP account, go to WPML -> Translations and start the job translation.
Just review carefully these steps and let us know if now you're able to accomplish the task now. Please do not hesitate in asking about something that is not clear yet.
Thank you,
Mateus.
