[Resolved] “wpcf_” added to the image filename, resized image not deleted from library

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I was using a Types field to display a resized custom field image. I can see the file name includes "wpcf_" by inspecting the uploads directory. When I attempt to delete the image from the Media Library using the "Delete Permanently" link, the resized image remains in the uploads directory.

Solution: Update to Types 3.0.7 to get the fix for this issue.

Hi,

I noticed image files on my server with "wpcf_" part in the filename. These are duplicated files, so I have, e.g., fullsizeoutput_137a-600x600.jpeg and fullsizeoutput_137a-wpcf_600x600.jpeg. These files with "wpcf_" part are not removed when I click on Delete Permanently option in the Media Library.

I use custom image size here.

Hi, the file with wpcf_ added to the filename is generated by Types when you use a custom image size. Let me ask my 2nd tier support team if they are expected to be deleted when the original image is removed permanently from the media library. I'm not quite sure if this is a bug or something that would have to be addressed as a feature request. Please stand by and I will update you when I have some additional information to share.

Hi, our developers have included a fix for this issue in the latest version of Types. Please find version 3.0.7 available for download or automatic update. When the original image is permanently deleted from the Media Library, resized images will also be deleted.
