[Resolved] WP search doesn’t work

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: The search archive page doesn't appear to be working.

Solution:
Choose either Layouts or Beaver Themer. If you choose Layouts, create a Layout for the Search Archive page. Insert a Wordpress Archive cell.

Hi
This question goes to you mostly to be pointed in the right direction. I am not sure if this has to do with Toolset or something else:
The point is that the "wp" search doesn't return any results. I'm referring to the "normal" search with the magnifying glass in the main menu here: labellavita.no
I have tried to switch theme, turning Relevanssi off and on again and also to check the Toolset > Settings > Text search (and checked all boxes under "Opplevelser descriptions" and "Houses descriptions") without luck.
("Opplevelse" is a custom post type, just like "Houses")

THE SOLUTION might be within the latter, though:
In the Toolset search setting is says that

"Update the Relevanssi settings and rebuild the index" - Done

"Copy this list of field names:
wpcf-opplevelsen-detaljer, wpcf-opplevelsen-hovedbeskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelsen-omradebeskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelse-pris-beskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelser-diverse, wpcf-detaljer-beskrivelse, wpcf-ekstra-beskrivelse, wpcf-hovedbeskrivelse, wpcf-omrade-beskrivelse, wpcf-priser-beskrivelse
Paste into "Custom fields to index" in the Relevanssi settings. "
...but I can't find any place in the Relevanssi settings to paste those field names
In Relevanssi's indexing options all post types are checked (post, page, house, opplevelse)

Many words for - hopefully - a short, easy answer...

Thanks,
Kjetil

Go to Settings > Relevanssi > Indexing tab. Scroll down near the bottom of the page and you will find a section called "Custom fields". Use the select field to select "some", then you will be allowed to paste your slugs into an input field. Screenshot attached. If you are unable to find this input area, let me know and I can take a closer look.

Thanks for coming back to me - that was a bit hidden, but - found it with your help
It still doesn't work, though.

I pasted the the generated line of custom post fields:
wpcf-opplevelsen-detaljer, wpcf-opplevelsen-hovedbeskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelsen-omradebeskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelse-pris-beskrivelse, wpcf-opplevelser-diverse, wpcf-detaljer-beskrivelse, wpcf-ekstra-beskrivelse, wpcf-hovedbeskrivelse, wpcf-omrade-beskrivelse, wpcf-priser-beskrivelse
- saved
- cleared Hummingbird cache
- reloaded front page
- tried to search for "villa" and "casa" - which should give several results.
Also tried to search for "bryllup" (= wedding) which is part of an "opplevelse" (= "trip" post type) title - still with no result.

Grateful for any hint
Thanks

Okay I logged in and found a few things.
1. There was a Beaver Themer design assigned to the Search Results archive. I set that design to Draft status for now so it is not interfering with the Toolset archive design.
2. You have Beaver Themer and Layouts active together. I strongly suggest you choose one and deactivate the other. They have similar functionality and will compete for control of the page design, inevitably causing conflicts and compatibility issues.
3. There was no Layout or WordPress Archive for the Search Results archive. I created a basic Layout with a WordPress Archive cell, and set it to be used on the search results archive page. You can find and edit this Layout here: hidden link
4. Now you can see results appear here: hidden link

Thanks a lot for going so thoroughly through this - and even making a solution!
Great help, and I'm sure also the quickest way to solve this - fine!
Solved.

I am also glad for the explanation about those two builders competing.
But - then: Is there generally a way - a best practise - to make these two builders work well together?
Basically I would believe that keeping eg Layouts strictly to one kind of layouts (while using BB on the others) should work fine. Correct?

I have used both in this site for several reasons:
1 - You have the very best search/selector functionality I've been able to find, including several ready-made themes I bought initially to build this site.
2 - I started out with a reference site, also being assured that it should work fine with the BB plugin.
Later I experienced several issues + that Toolset starter theme wasn't developed anymore = switched to Astra (pro + child theme)
3 ...and also added the BeaverThemer. The BB system is the best builder (no offence 🙂
Finally: I have used the Toolset Layou only to build the two search pages

I explain all this basically to - full of hope - to ask if you have any advice to avoid future issues. Or maybe if you already have some tutorial or similar for using these plugins together. If this take too much time for you, please just leave it.
Apart from the woocommerce part which isn't yet published, the site is up and running - and I am not aware of any other issues for now.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks

I explain all this basically to - full of hope - to ask if you have any advice to avoid future issues.
Now that our policy is that Layouts and Beaver Themer should not be used together, our developers will probably not resolve issues related to using these two systems together. Our support team will probably not help investigate problems related to using these two systems together. So if you continue to try to use the systems together, you may run into problems later that are impossible to fix. At that point, you would have to convert all your designs to one system or the other. In my opinion, it's better to make a choice now and convert your designs now, rather than waiting. You may have more designs later, which will take more time to convert. The only advice I can give to avoid future issues is to choose one system now.

The BB system is the best builder
Finally: I have used the Toolset Layou only to build the two search pages
Based on these statements, it sounds like Beaver Builder and Beaver Themer are more important for you than Toolset Layouts. It's probably best to deactivate Toolset Layouts and recreate the search page designs in Beaver Builder / Themer. This will help prevent problems in the future as Toolset Layouts and Beaver Themer become less and less compatible. You'll still be able to use Views for custom search and displaying results.

OK, I get it.
Probably B themer goes out since Layout is crucial for the search pages. I have tried and not managed to recreate the search funtionality with themer, so - thanks for taking the time to explain this so well. I apreciate it.
