[Resolved] WP Archive not working after deployment from staging to live
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
No supporters are available to work today on Toolset forum. Feel free to create tickets and we will handle it as soon as we are online. Thank you for your understanding.
When I do a full deploy of my staging site hidden link in the live site hidden link the WordPress Archive link hidden link get to a 404 page eventhough the same link on the staging site gets to display the Archive OK.
I already asked the Server Support Team of Siteground, and I got the following answer :
"Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.
I have reviewed the situation you experience and I was able to recreate it however the issue seems to be related to specific configurations of a plugin or the theme you are using.
I attempted to deploy only the changes to the website using a custom deployment method however that did not resolve the issue.
It seems the page you are using on /oeuvre when deployed is not correctly configured over to the new application due to the plugin that is creating that page.
From what I see even the style of the page is not present and that might be some issue between the theme and the plugin you are using when the website is deployed and the domain is changed.
I would recommend recreating the page manually or contacting the developers of the plugin you are using to create the page to assist you.
Keep in mind that the issue is not related to the Staging Tool but to the setup of the website which has very specific settings.
Feel free to contact us again if you need our assistance."
So this issue has nothing to do with the deploying process from staging hidden link to live site hidden link
I did follow the Toolset documentation on how to create a WordPress Archive
Hi,
I detected the same problem with the following links to pages containing Views on the saging site hidden link, which do not work either after deployment to the live site hidden link :
hidden link hidden link hidden link
Meanwhile, I backed up the live site, and did re-install WP 6.0.3. on both sites, in case it had something to do with this issue, and I ddid a full deploy again.
Hi Minesh,
As you can read it in my first message, this transfer is from a staging site to a live site on the same SiteGround server.
I do not know what the specific process is. This question should be asked to the SiteGround Support Team.
I checked the article "How do I migrate a WordPress site from one domain to the other?" :
- the WordPress address AND the Site address are both OK in the live site hidden link
- the wp-options table of the live site indicates the right option_values of hidden link for both the siteurl and the home option_names
This issue is extremely important for this site, which is a public Platform for Art Museums, because if it cannot be resolved, it means that I will not be able to develop on that staging site and then deploy anymore.
You can access both sites with the credentials I gave you in my first message above.
Thank you for looking into theis problem.
Best regards,
Hi Minesh,
Again, you can read the first sentence of my first message : it is a FULL DEPLOY.
The issue here is that WP archives and the pages with Toolset Views do not transfer with a full deploy : why?
The SiteGround Server's support Team has already answered (see first message also) that in their eyes this issue is not related to their staging process.
The theme I am using is Kadence, including the Pro extensions and the Kadence Blocks with Kadence Blocks Pro.
According to the Toolset docs, Toolset plugins are fully compatible with the Kadence theme.
Please dig deeper : you have full access to the back end of bothe sites.

That is not the case - we do not see any other users reported such issue.

Ok
Now as you requested I dive into the staging site and I checked the following page and it works (that works for you as well):
- hidden link
Then I tried to load the same archive on the live site: hidden link
- I can see its working without any issues. Please check the following video: hidden link
I checked the other links as well that you shared that works on staging and but you claim its not working on your list site:
- hidden link
- hidden link
- hidden link
I checked all those links in live:
- hidden link
- hidden link
- hidden link
I can confirm above links are also working. Please check the following video: hidden link
I'm not sure why its not working for you. Have you tired different browser, different computer?
Well, this is mind boggeling...
Yes this morning thses links all work as they should on the live production site hidden link
I am sorry to have bothered you with this "Phantom Issue" !
I just hope it will not happen again : I will do a full deploy again today and see if it still working.
Please keep this ticket open until I communicate the result.
For a moment I thought the issue had something to do with the fact that in the Block Editor, the Toolset blocks (Field and Text for instance) can not be visualized : so I had rolled back to the WP 6.0.3 version on both sites, in order to be able to edit the blocks properly...
But it was not the case, all thses links work also under the WP 6.0.3 version... Go figure!
By the way do you have any idea about when this block visualization issue will be fixed by the Toolset dev team ?
