[Resolved] Whitelist Private Post Author

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to password protect their posts but only for users who are not authors of that post.

Solution:
Unfortunately this isn't possible to do as once there is a password protection on the post from wordpress then all users will need to use the password to access the post.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
Is there any way to whitelist the author of a private post so they never have to enter a password to access their own post? They must be logged in first of course, but I want to remove the requirement of a password for them if they are logged in and are the creator of the post.

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I suspect that you're using the default wordpress password option for the posts? If so then I don't believe this will be possible to achieve because the password protection triggers regardless of if its the post owner or not.

Thanks,
Shane

That's what I thought. I wasn't sure if there was a solution for it or not.
