[Resolved] Where to insert the shortcode for the editing form

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to insert an edit post link that links to an edit Form. My site uses Layouts.

Solution: First, create the Edit Form. Then create a Layout that contains a Form cell with your Edit Form in place. Do not assign this Layout to any posts or archives.

Then use the Fields and Views button above any text editor area to insert an Edit Post link, and choose the Layout you just created as the destination.

Am using this shortcode in a Content Template: [cred_form form='edit-case-study']

But am not able to add the edit form shortcode in the correct place so it 1) shows as an edit link in the post and 2) opens as a new page displaying the editing form. Is this possible?

Single post: hidden link

Layout: Template for Case Studies 1

Form for adding a new post: hidden link

The edit form displays below the page content (screenshot 1), but then there's a permission denied text on the post (screenshot 2)

Am using this documentation: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/displaying-cred-editing-forms/

And trying to follow these instructions: Forms edit-post link – inserts a link to the “edit mode” of a post (post, page, or custom type). You can choose to insert a link to edit a specific post, the currently displayed post, or a post in a View loop.

To show an edit post link instead of the actual Form, you can use the Fields and Views button above any WYSIWYG editor. There is an option to insert a "Forms Edit Post" link. But first, see #2 below.

and 2) opens as a new page displaying the editing form. Is this possible?
Yes, your site uses Layouts so a special Layout is required. First, you should remove the edit form shortcode from the Content Template. Next, create a Layout that includes a Post Form cell, where your edit Form will be displayed. Do not assign this Layout to any content types or archives. Then, when you insert the Forms Edit Post link, you will be prompted to select the Layout with the edit Form cell. You can also choose the interaction type, so the link can open in a new tab/window if you would like. The proper shortcode for the edit post link will be inserted in your WYSIWYG content.

Let me know if I've misunderstood what you want to accomplish, or if you're having trouble.
