Cant update on staging site.png
Views Breaks.png

Hi there,

When updating our live site today, I updated Toolset Views and when doing so received an error and it broke the search bar across the whole site. This the site in question with the search bar as it should be: hidden link

Of course I couldn't leave it like this so reloaded a backup.

I have created a Staging site to try and replicate the issue however I now can't update any Toolset Plugins, an error appears.

I have attached the error code below and screen shot from the search bar vanishing and from the Staging Site plugin issue.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thank you, Pete

Hi Pete,

Thank you for getting in touch.

It seems that the update must've gotten corrupt somehow.

Would you mind allowing me have admin access to the website so that I can have a look at this for you ?

The private fields will be enabled for your next response.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Pete,

As mentioned this might've been a corrupted update as when I manually installed the latest version of our Blocks plugin the page still displays fine.

Our Blocks plugin is the exact same as our Views plugin so a Manual install of the latest views plugin will yield the same results. You can keep our Blocks plugin activated as there is no difference between it and our Views plugin.

Please check on your end and let me know if everything is ok.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

Thank you. Yep just checked and all ok. I see you have activated both legacy and blocks interface in settings.
I've read all about block however I have no need to rebuild everything we have in Views with Blocks and have been assured by Agnes that Views will always be available.

I can remove Views completely now and all good?

Hi Pete,

Yes I've activated the Legacy builder on Blocks so you can have access to all your views created with the classic builder.

As shared previously there is essentially no difference and you can still build out your views as normal. Also this holds true for updates. Views and Blocks receive the same updates and patches.

So yes you can remove views from your site since blocks is now active. Also views will always still be available if you want to redownload it in the future.

Thanks,
Shane
