Hi Nick

I checked the internal tickets and the issue has been identified by our second tier and raised with the developers, but they have not yet proposed a solution.

I have commented on the ticket that you are asking about progress, but I can't say when they will allocate time for this I'm afraid.

Ok. thank you for keeping me in the loop.

Hi Nicholas

I've nothing to report, I'm afraid.

It's with the developers, but I can't influence how they prioritise their workload other than to comment again on the internal ticket that you are asking about progress.

The only thing I can say is to confirm that the issue arises because you are sorting by a hidden custom field (i.e. "_upvotes"), and the code as-written expects the field to be a Types custom field.

I get notifications when the internal ticket is updated, and I'll let you know when that happens.

Hello Nigel. It has been 3 weeks are there any updates on this?

The launch of a new website depends on this.

Have a nice day,
Nick

Hi Nicholas

I checked the internal tickets and the developers have marked this as to be fixed in the next Views update, 2.5.3.

I've asked if a patch can be made available before then so you can use it on your site. I'll update you with their response.

Thanks so much Nigel.

Hey Nigel, do you know when Views 2.5.3. is going to be released or if there's a patch currently available?

Best,
Nick

Hi Nicholas

I'm sorry for the delay, there is no patch as it hasn't been fixed yet.

The cause has been identified and it won't be too troublesome to fix, but the next stable Views release has been delayed by work on completing the update of the Types and Views betas with CRED and WPML support, which they aim to complete within a week.

I raised your issue at the developers meeting just now and was told they will work on it as soon as they can.

Thanks for the update Nigel 🙂

Nicholas, we have an update!
