Tell us what you are trying to do?

I want to display custom post types that have been tagged with a taxonomy term that matches the name of the page.

I have created a taxonomy called Topics. Examples of terms in the Topics taxonomy are Digital Library and Microforms.

I have created a Topic Page reusable block that contains Views for the custom post types Staff, Instruction, Projects, and News.

I have configured the view content to select a output a post type (I will use Staff as an example), and have added a taxonomy filter so that only Staff posts tagged with the Topic that matches the page title will be displayed in the view. Theoretically I believe this should work but my views are not displaying any content for when I have them configured in this way.

Ideally, on a page titled 'Microforms', the Staff view would return only Staff members who have been tagged with the Microforms taxonomy term.

Is this possible?

Is there any documentation that you are following?

I am not following any documentation and do not have examples beyond what I have written above.

What is the link to your site?

Out site is in development and cannot currently be shared - however, I am happy to replicate the behavior in a testing site.

Hi there,

Thanks for your contact!

This is expected, it won't work with the 'page where this View is shown' option enabled in the Taxonomy Query Filter. Instead, you should use the 'any of the following' option, and then select the correspondent term, like this: hidden link

Apart from that, for a more automated solution where the system will recognize and get the name of the page title, it would be necessary to configure it with some code customization. At this point, I'm afraid this custom code solution is beyond the scope of this support forum, but we recommend that you check our contractors page: https://toolset.com/contractors/.

Thanks for your understanding. If you need anything else don't hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Mateus.

Thank you, it is frustrating that this functionality is unavailable but I will try another way.
